Peru: Public investment up 8.37% at National Government in Jan-Apr 2019

Public investment reversed its negative trend seen in the first two months of the year and returned to positive territory —in accumulated terms— with nominal growth of 3.32% in April 2019.

In this context, public investment in April grew 8.37% —in nominal terms— at the National Government, according to Peru's Economy and Finance Ministry.

The execution at said level of government totaled S/2.8 billion (about US$862 million) in Jan-Apr this year, up 8.37% compared to the same period in 2018 (S/2.6 billion; US$795 million).

Accordingly, transport and communications, education, agriculture, interior, energy and mines, as well as housing, construction and sanitation were the sectors that spent the most money on public investment projects, as described below:
