The Provincial Corporate Prosecutor’s Office against Organized Crime of La Libertad region – Team 2 has secured the international arrest of Peruvian citizen Miguel A. Rodriguez Diaz, also known as "Cuchillo" (Knife) in Colombia.
Through a post on the X platform, it added that the preliminary detention of Liliana E. Pizan Chirado was secured in Peru.
In this regard, the Office specified that the detention of both suspects was carried out in coordination with the Peruvian National Police (PNP) and its Colombian counterpart, with technical assistance from the Office of International Judicial Cooperation and Extraditions of the Public Ministry.
Rodriguez Diaz is under investigation for the crime against life, body, and health in the form of aggravated homicide. Pizan Chirado is being investigated for the crime of obstruction of justice.
Both are charged as alleged members of a criminal organization.
Likewise, through a post on its official X account, the Ministry of Interior reported that Rodriguez Diaz was arrested in Colombia "following a thorough intelligence effort and coordination work between the PNP's La Libertad Police Region Department, the National Police of Colombia, and Interpol."
He is accused of having committed crimes against miners in a mine shaft in Pataz province, La Libertad.
