The Public Ministry has released statistics on the results of its actions this year in the fight against drug trafficking —through its Specialized Prosecutor's Offices for Illicit Drug Trafficking Crimes (FETID).
Said offices are hosted by 24 venues located in various prosecutorial districts of the national territory.
The statistics cover from January to October in three areas of its work against drug trafficking.
During the analyzed period, 38,907 kilograms of illicit drugs were seized through its 32 bureaus that make up the Specialized Prosecutor's Offices for Illicit Drug Trafficking Crimes nationwide.
The total includes three types of drugs:
Cocaine paste: 12,420 kilograms of this drug were confiscated, with the largest amount seized by the FETID in Chanchamayo (Junin region), leading to a total of 2,977 kilograms to date.
Cocaine hydrochloride: The amount corresponds to 15,624 kilograms of this illegal substance, with the largest amount seized by the First FETID in Callao (Callao region), leading to a total of 2,055 kilograms.
Cannabis Sativa (Marijuana): The seized amount of this drug was 10,862 kilograms. The highest seizure was led by FETID in Tingo Maria (Huanuco region), with a total of 3,320 kilograms to date.
