The Public Ministry on Friday proceeded with the raid of 10 houses and preliminary detention —for 7 days— of 10 people investigated for the alleged irregularities in the
hiring of singer Richard Cisneros by the Ministry of Culture, between 2018 and 2020.
The measure —which was requested by Provincial Prosecutor Janny Sanchez— is carried out with the support of representatives of the Third Office of the First Prosecutor's Office Specialized in Corruption Offenses Committed by Public Officials in Central Lima, computer experts, and officers from the
Peruvian National Police's High Complexity Investigations Division (Diviac).
The procedure —which began at 04.00 a.m. (local time)— was carried out simultaneously at properties located in Lima's Surco, San Isidro, Miraflores, La Molina, San Borja, Pueblo Libre, and Magdalena del Mar districts. It includes home search, as well as seizure of documents, goods, and materials.
Those who were preliminary detained include Culture Ministry officials such as Human Resources General Office Director General Aura Quiñones, Administration Department Director General Lincoln Matos, General Secretaries Patricia Davila and Diana Tamashiro, as well as former Presidential Adviser Oscar Vasquez.
The detentions also included National Grand Theater Programmer Mauricio Salas, singer Richard Cisneros, as well as Mirian Morales and Karem Roca, former Secretary General and ex-Administrative Assistant, respectively, at the Presidency of the Republic.
The location of Culture Ministry Human Resources Director General Liliana Margot is unknown.
The Prosecutor's Office investigates them for the alleged crime against the public administration, in the form of aggravated collusion.
Diviac officers detained Karem Roca at her home in Miraflores district and took her to the headquarters of said police division at Lima's Prefecture.
The same happened with Mirian Morales and Richard Cisneros.
