Peruvian products —of the food and beverage sector— obtained the Superior Taste Award, the Foreign Trade and Tourism Ministry (Mincetur) has informed.
"Around 200 prestigious chefs and sommeliers objectively assessed our products, identifying them as products with high taste quality," Peru's Brussels-based Trade Office (Ocex Brussels) underlined.
It should be noted that, although the number of participants and the difficulty of the exam have increased, the quantity of prize-winning Peruvian products has remained constant, which reflects the quality of the Inca country's products.
Distinguished brands
In this sense, Socosani (Carbonated water), Fontevita, Yura, and Benedictino received two stars, while Socosani (non-carbonated water) was awarded three stars.
San Luis water (two stars) has been recognized for seven years in a row.
Likewise, Mincetur highlighted Cusqueña beer —through its four varieties (Red, Gold, Black, and Wheat)— has received this award for 12 consecutive years.
Mincetur went on to add Cusqueña Roja (three stars) is the first Peruvian brand to be granted the Diamond Taste Award (91 points out of 100) for seven years in a row. Thus, it is among the best beers in the world.
