“The Executive Power and Congress of the Republic are obliged to work [together] for the benefit of all Peruvians,” Prime Minister Pedro Cateriano affirmed today.

Remarks were made after a meeting held with Congress Chairman, Luis Iberico, which was aimed at addressing several national interest-related affairs.

Prior to leaving the Congress facilities, Cateriano said the national interest is "always above" the political differences and ideological points of view existing in the country.

"In a democratic system, dialogue belongs to the essence related to the exchange of ideas. Thanks to her, we can move forward," the Prime Minister told while addressing the press.

After thanking Iberico for the invitation, Cateriano added the State Powers have to undertake efforts with the aim of continuing making progress and taking care of relevant aspects, such as the economic.

Concerning the general elections, set to take place in April 2015, the country must move towards that “decisive stage” in an environment filled with political stability, he said.

Likewise, the Executive Power's speaker congratulated Iberico, who was chosen to chair Congress during the 2015-2016 legislative year. Similarly, he was invited to join the next Council of Ministers session.
