Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra on Wednesday affirmed that his Government has made the most appropriate decisions when it comes to combating COVID-19, acting with determination and courage
"It is very easy for someone to come out and say I could do this differently, how comfortable, and at the moment when the best decisions were made, with determination and courage, they said well done," he stated.
The President noted that this not only occurs in Peru, since in every corner of the world there are generals and commanders who show up after the battle to say —sitting in an office— that they would have done something better.
"We have done what had to be done from the first day, without wasting time. The first case was reported on March 6, and the
state of emergency was declared on March 15. We said that we would spare no effort and allocated 12% of GDP to tackle this pandemic," the top official pointed out.
On this occasion, the President was joined by members of the Council of Ministers. The event was held at the Government Palace in Lima.
Wednesday marks the fifty-ninth day of mandatory social isolation.
