The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Thursday morning participated in the 93rd fair "Fish within your reach with My Fish Shop," in Lima's Ate district, so as to promote the consumption of fishery products among Peru's most vulnerable sectors.

Joined by mothers running soup kitchens and ollas comunes (community pots: community-led food-relief efforts) in Huaycan urban community, the President visited this fair that is part of the "Let's Eat Fish" National Program of the Production Ministry, and which promotes healthy eating as well as the fight against anemia.

This program is focused on 1,088 districts with high poverty and extreme poverty rates located in regions with the lowest consumption of fishery products, such as Huancavelica, Puno, and Cusco.

In Metropolitan Lima, it seeks to strengthen the supply of fish for soup kitchens and community pots in order to improve the nutritional levels of vulnerable populations.

The ceremony took place at Huaycan's Main Square. It was attended by Production Minister Yvan Quispe and Ate District Mayor Edde Cuellar.
