07:40 | Lima, Jul. 29.

Today, July 29, within the framework of the 202nd Anniversary of Peruvian Independence, the President of the Republic Dina Boluarte will lead the traditional Civic and Military Parade to be witnessed by thousands of citizens.

The event will be held on Brasil Avenue in Lima's Jesus Maria district.

As is known, this activity used to take place at the Peruvian Army headquarters in Lima's San Borja district between 2020 and 2022 to prevent crowds at times of COVID-19.

Held every July 29, the traditional event will gather detachments representing the country's military institutions and National Police.

As usual, the ceremony will see the presence of State ministers, congress members, high-ranking military officers, religious authorities, and diplomats.

Stands have been erected to seat authorities and public in general, who will not hesitate to come early, as seating is limited.

As every year, a limited number of seats will be reserved for authorities and the press. The rest will be open for the great deal of spectators.

Upon arrival, the Head of State will review the troops at the main stand and will then authorize a high-ranking military officer to start the activity.

Following a brief welcoming ceremony, attendees will get together to sing the national anthem.

Next, members of the Peruvian Army, Air Force, Navy, and National Police will delight spectators with their stiff march, gala uniforms, and varied equipment.

Held as part of Independence Day festivities, the parade pays tribute to Peruvian Armed Forces for their contribution to the country.

It is also an opportunity to inspire patriotism and love for the country.

Thanksgiving Ceremony

The President will begin her activities at the Assemblies of God Evangelistic Center, in Lima's Lince district, today at 8:00 a.m. (local time).

There, she will participate in the Thanksgiving for Peru Ceremony, organized by the Evangelical Christian Churches of Peru.
