Peru: President to address the nation from Congress on Independence Anniversary

On July 28, on the occasion of Peru's 199th Independence Anniversary, President Martin Vizcarra will deliver his Address to the Nation from Congress headquarters in Lima.

The Presidency of the Republic's Communications Office reported that members of the Council of Ministers and parliamentarians will also participate in the solemn session.

Previously, the Head of State and Cabinet members will take part in a virtual solemn mass and Te Deum from the Government Palace.

July 29

On July 29, the President and ministers will participate remotely in a thanksgiving ceremony from the Government Palace.

Later that day, the Head of State will arrive at the Army Headquarters, where the military civic ceremony "Homage to the heroes of the battle against the COVID-19" will be held.

It will be an act to recognize the institutions that have fought on the front line against the new coronavirus.

It must be noted that official activities linked to the anniversary have been arranged taking into account the health emergency currently in place in the South American country.
