Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra on Tuesday oversaw the Uchumayo detour improvement works entailing an investment worth over S/500 million (at least US$150 million).
On the occasion, he was joined by Arequipa Region Governor Elmer Caceres, Deputy Transport Minister Carlos Estremadoyro, Congressman Sergio Davila, as well as the region's mayors.
The Head of State toured the San Isidro Bridge and Evitamiento Road, which corresponds to the project's stretch number 2.
"This work should be completed at the end of August. If it's sooner, that will be fine," he expressed.
It should be noted Uchumayo detour stretches 1 and 3 have already been finished.
