Peru: President supervises vaccination of urban teachers

The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Friday supervised the startup of immunization of urban schoolteachers against COVID-19.

On this occasion, the President was joined by Ministers Hernando Cevallos (Health) and Juan Cadillo (Education).

The event took place at the Great School Unit Jose Granda located in Lima's San Martin de Porres district.

In fact, the vaccination of teachers in Metropolitan Lima and Callao region will be carried out in accordance with schedule available on the Pongo el Hombro (I Lend a Shoulder) web platform.

The process will continue progressively in other regions, according to the programming for each jurisdiction.

Last Thursday, Education Minister Juan Cadillo reported that 59% of teachers are already vaccinated with the two doses, adding that the ministry would continue immunizing teachers and administrative personnel.
