10:30 | Cusco (Cusco region), Jan. 9.
Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra on Thursday monitored the functioning of Urubamba Bridge, located in southern Andean region of Cusco, where he is set to take part in a series of activities.
Upon arrival —joined by local and regional authorities— Mr. Vizcarra received welcome greetings from locals, who reached the area to be present during the activity.
The Urubamba Bridge crosses the river of the same name and connects Cusco and Pisac with the Ollantaytambo zone situated in the
Sacred Valley.
The approximately 80-year-old infrastructure features two lanes and is 13 meter wide.
Its construction will deliver direct benefits to local and regional producers, as well as to 146,521 inhabitants.
