The day before, the head of the
OAS Electoral Observation Mission Ruben Ramirez Lezcano announced that the delegation would hold meetings with high-ranking authorities from the Executive and Legislative Branches, as well as from electoral bodies, political parties, and civil society.
The official also explained that this is a preliminary electoral observation mission and that it will remain in the country until next Saturday.
Ramirez Lezcano —who had served as Paraguay's Foreign Affairs minister— said that their presence will enable the OAS delegation to know and understand "all the points of view of civil society."
