Joined by First Lady of the Nation Lilia Paredes, the President of the Republic Pedro Castillo arrived in the city of Lima on Saturday morning after having successfully participated in the IX Summit of the Americas, held in Los Angeles, United States.

The Head of State arrived at Air Group No. 8 around 9:30 a.m. (local time) after having held important work meetings, within the framework of an international agenda for the summit. This event brought together heads of state and government from various countries, including U.S. President Joe Biden.

Besides, Peru's top official met with counterparts from Chile, Gabriel Boric; Colombia, Ivan Duque; Costa Rica, Rodrigo Chaves; and the event's host Joe Biden, with whom he discussed the need for bilateral strengthening, the fight against climate change and corruption, as well as —mainly— the search for common agendas at the Americas level to face the post-pandemic food and health crisis.

During his stay in Los Angeles, the Head of State also held meetings with directors of transnational companies, in pursuit of drawing investments and productive technical training for the South American country.

Within this framework, he met with Development Bank of Latin America (CAF) Executive President Sergio Diaz-Granados and other business leaders.
