Peru: President recognized as Supreme Chief of Armed Forces, Police

The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Thursday was recognized as Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces and the National Police of Peru.

This ceremony was attended by Ministers Walter Ayala (Defense) and Juan Carrasco (Interior).

It also saw the presence of the head of the Joint Command of the Armed Forces, Major General Manuel Gomez de La Torre Aranibar, as well as the General Commanders of the Army, Navy, Air Force, and National Police.

The event took place at the Government Palace's courtyard in Lima.

As is known, Pedro Castillo became President of the Republic on July 28, 2021.
