Peru: President meets with representatives of Indigenous peoples at Government Palace

The President of the Republic, Jose Maria Balcazar, received representatives of the National Organization of Special Justice of Indigenous, Native, and Farming Peoples (Onajepinc) at the Government Palace in Lima.

The meeting aimed to strengthen joint efforts for the benefit of their communities.

According to the Presidential Office, the gathering was part of efforts aimed at promoting coordination involving the Executive Branch and organizations representing indigenous, native, and farming peoples.

During the meeting, the Head of State "reaffirmed the Government's commitment to fostering dialogue, coordination, and consensus-building to address the longstanding demands" of these sectors.

The importance of "advancing solutions that contribute to the development, inclusion, and well-being of the country's Indigenous, native, and farming communities" was also highlighted.
