Peru President pays tribute to deceased doctors

On Intensive Medicine Day, President Martin Vizcarra paid a heartfelt tribute to Peru's health sector heroes, who died fighting the COVID-19.

On the occasion, the Head of State was joined by Peruvian College of Physicians Dean Dr. Miguel Palacios.

The ceremony took place in Lima within the framework of a compulsory social isolation imposed to prevent the COVID-19 from further spreading in the South American country.

Initially set to last from March 16 to 30, the mandatory quarantine was extended until June 30.

Monday marks the eighty-fifth day of mandatory social isolation in Peru.
