Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra on Tuesday monitored clean-up and channeling works along Zarumilla River in northern Tumbes region, as part of preventive measures in response to rains.
The aim is to protect citizens and cultivation areas located on the banks of the river.
In addition, he supervised flood protection works in the Tamarindo area, situated on the left bank of Tumbes River.
The above-mentioned works seek to protect the population of San Jacinto district against weather phenomena.
