Peru President oversees irrigation channels in Tumbes

Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra on Thursday monitored clean-up works of irrigation channels along Tumbes River, as part of preventive actions under the Reconstruction with Changes program.


The Head of State was joined by Agriculture Minister Gustavo Mostajo during the inspection.

As is known, northern Peru was hit by Coastal El Niño floods last year. Said weather event was characterized by heavy rains, landslides, and floods, which destroyed infrastructure and crops, leaving many citizens homeless.

Muni-Executive Power Meeting in Tumbes

On the other hand, a new Muni-Executive Power meeting will be chaired by President Martin Vizcarra and Prime Minister Cesar Villanueva today while in Tumbes.


It must be noted the gathering is intended to align provinces' political priorities with those of districts.

The working meeting will bring together State ministers, Authority for Reconstruction with Changes (ARCC) Chief Edgar Quispe, as well as Tumbes' provincial and local mayors.
