Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra on Thursday supervised the construction of Peña and Pichichaco Bridges located in Ignacio Escudero District belonging to northern Sullana Province.
The corresponding infrastructures were damaged by
Coastal El Niño phenomenon in
2017. Said weather event was characterized by heavy rains, landslides, and floods, which destroyed infrastructure and crops, leaving many citizens homeless.
During the supervision, the Head of State spoke with workers in charge of the project.
He also received the report on the progress made and the different actions currently being undertaken.
Previously, the top official overflew the areas affected by the past natural phenomenon.
On the occasion, he was joined by Transport and Communications Minister Maria Jara.
