Peru: President meets with officials to define new measures against COVID-19

12:38 | Lima, May. 7.

President Martin Vizcarra currently leads a new meeting with representatives of various Executive Branch sectors to review the taken actions —within the framework of the state of emergency due to coronavirus— and approve new measures to protect the health of all citizens.

State ministers, officials responsible for the health system, and members of the COVID-19 Operations Command participate in the work meeting to define the next measures against the pandemic.

The event takes place at the Government Palace in Lima, within the framework of a mandatory social isolation imposed to prevent the COVID-19 from further spreading in the South American country.

Thursday marks the fifty-third day of mandatory social isolation in Peru.

The Head of State will not hold a press conference today.
