Peru: President meets with La Convencion Amazon Municipal Commonwealth representatives

The President of the Republic, Jose Maria Balcazar, met on Friday with representatives of La Convencion Amazon Municipal Commonwealth from the Cusco region to review the continuity of ongoing public works and evaluate new projects aimed at fostering local development.

Representatives of municipal entities from Apurimac and Madre de Dios regions also took part in the meeting, the Presidential Office reported on X.

"The Head of State reaffirmed that he is aware of the problems affecting the area and expressed the Executive Branch's willingness to ensure the necessary attention so that the projects are carried out," it stated.

This event was held at the Government Palace in Lima.

La Convencion Amazon Municipal Commonwealth's main objective is to promote road integration projects, alternative development, agro-exports, value-added industrialization, tourism, as well as an effective State presence with access to quality basic services.
