Peru: President meets with artisanal fishers on Fisherman's Day

The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo held a meeting with artisanal fishers' guild members on the occasion of Fisherman's Day.


The event took place at the Fishermen's Quay located in Lima Metropolitan Area's Chorrillos district on Wednesday morning.

Later, the Head of State will participate in the Mass on the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul. This activity is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. (local time) at the Cathedral of Lima.

As every year, the religious festival in honor of Saint Peter and Saint Paul is commemorated on June 29.

In the same way, Fisherman's Day is celebrated as is customary along the Peruvian coast.

On this special day, the efforts carried out daily by male and female fishers in their tasks and the important work in favor of the country's development and food security are highlighted.
