Peru President leads Council of State meeting

President Martin Vizcarra leads the Council of State meeting to analyze the situation of coronavirus (COVID-19), which has been affecting various regions in Peru.

The event is attended by Congress Head Manuel Merino, Judiciary Chair Jose Luis Lecaros, Attorney General Zoraida Avalos, Ombudsman Walter Gutierrez, and Comptroller General Nelson Shack.

Also present are cabinet chief Vicente Zeballos, as well Ministers Maria Antonieta Alva (Economy-Finance), Victor Zamora (Health), Carlos Moran (Interior), Ariela Luna (Development-Social Inclusion), and Fernando Castañeda (Justice-Human Rights).

The Council of State meeting seeks to involve the State powers in the decisions made by the Government, given that many actions require their involvement and follow-up.
