Likewise, it emphasizes the importance of strengthening police intelligence and criminal investigation, as well as police infrastructure, technology, and professionalization, in line with optimizing the prevention, detection, and fight against organized crime.
The top official expressed his gratitude for the IDB's collaboration, highlighting that the report provides valuable input for the technical teams working on the development of the new citizen security plan.
Furthermore, the Head of State expressed the government's willingness to maintain ongoing contact in order to continue coordinating a final document that includes actions and measures for the short, medium, and long term.
He recalled that the IDB has been involved in strengthening police forces in Honduras, Argentina, and Uruguay.
Also attending the meeting were Cabinet Chief Ernesto Alvarez, along with Ministers Hugo de Zela (Foreign Affairs), Denisse Miralles (Economy and Finance), Cesar Diaz (Defense), Vicente Tiburcio (Interior), and Police General Commander Oscar Arriola.
