The President of the Republic, Jose Jeri, on Tuesday participated in the Job Fair in Lima's San Juan de Lurigancho district.

The event offers 6,000 employment opportunities through 80 private-sector companies.

The Head of State was accompanied by district Mayor Jesus Maldonado and Labor and Employment Promotion Minister Oscar Fernandez.

During his speech, the top official said that the government is working across all possible sectors to create more jobs "with the aim of giving opportunities to young people and those not so young."

"We must continue coordinating these efforts with the business sector, which is present at this fair, and with those listening so they can contribute to these kinds of spaces that allow us to provide job opportunities to those who need them most," Jeri said, addressing Minister Fernandez.

The top official emphasized that it is important to thank private companies for their participation and commitment to job fairs in order to move the country forward.

"I expect to receive tomorrow the names of all the companies participating today so I can thank them in writing for their participation and, at the same time, encourage them to continue working with us," he concluded.
