The President of the Republic, Jose Jeri, visited the Maria Reiche Soup Kitchen in Lima's Comas district on Thursday to assess the quality of the food service provided to vulnerable populations.

The Head of State shared lunch with more than 20 social leaders during this visit.

The meal was prepared by the mothers of soup kitchens in Comas and other districts of the capital and Callao region.

It also served to celebrate the top official's birthday, during which he received numerous expressions of affection and gratitude.

President Jeri highlighted the work carried out by these grassroots organizations, as well as the invaluable support they provide to families with the greatest needs.

He was accompanied by Development and Social Inclusion Minister Lesly Shica and Comas District Mayor Ulises Villegas on the occasion.

The aim of this action was to oversee the proper use of more than S/20 million (over US$5.93 million) transferred to social organizations in the country.
