led the flag-raising ceremony at the Peruvian Air Force (FAP) Captain Jose Abelardo Educational Institution in Lima's Jesus Maria district on Wednesday.
Accompanied by school students, the Head of State sang the national anthem as part of actions to strengthen national identity.
During his speech, the top official told pupils that he had attended this school from first to third grade.
He added that it was the educational institution where he earned his best grades.
The Head of State mentioned that several Cabinet ministers were at other educational institutions participating in flag-raising ceremonies this morning as well.
The President also noted that he wanted to be present at his first school.
"I know you are taking your final exams; I hope you give your best effort. Always keep going, study hard, which is important, and love your national symbols. Remember that the national anthem is part of the identity everyone should uphold," he stated.
