The
President of the Republic Pedro Castillo this Friday carries out various activities in Piura region, where he participated in the inauguration of Yacila fish-landing quay, for the benefit of Peru's northern area population.
The Head of State toured the facilities of this important structure aimed at strengthening the artisanal fishing activity and boosting the creation of new jobs in said region.
These facilities will also make it possible to improve the working conditions of fisherpeople.
During his visit, President Castillo was able to talk with artisanal fisherpeople and learn about their daily work, which allows them to bring various sea products to food markets in the country's northern area.
Production Minister Jorge Luis Prado attended the event as well.
This modern artisanal fish-landing quay in the town of Yacila, Paita province (Piura region), will benefit 2,500 people, including fisherpeople and their families.
The landing site complies with the design, construction, and operation requirements of the sanitary regulation to ensure production and trade of fish, as well as fishery products from local and international markets —free from any condition that may endanger consumers' lives.
