Peru President: I have witnessed citizens' wish to improve institutionalism

Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra on Thursday affirmed that the wish of the majority of Peruvians to improve the nation's institutionalism is confirmed in every trip he makes.

In this sense, the Head of State indicated he has witnessed how much the most remote areas love the homeland, adding they agree with the proposal aimed at strengthening democracy.

As is known, the Executive Branch submitted a proposal to Congress aimed at calling for early elections by 2020. The initiative is deemed as the only way out of the current political entrapment.

Likewise, the top official pointed out he relies on the strength and support of regional governments.

"But most importantly, we have the Peruvian people's support," he expressed.

Remarks were made after supervising diverse works in northern Andean Cajamarca region.
