President Martin Vizcarra on Sunday led the ceremony marking the 140th Anniversary of the Battle of Arica and renewed the Oath of Allegiance to the National Flag.
On the occasion, he was joined by high-ranking officials, public institutions' representatives, as well as members of Peru's Armed Forces and National Police.
The ceremony also paid homage to Colonel Francisco Bolognesi, who gave his life to defend Peru from Chilean Invasion during the War of the Pacific (1879-1883).
The event took place at Lima's Bolognesi Roundabout.
