The President of the Republic, Keiko Fujimori, arrived at Libertador San Martin School in Lima's San Borja district on Sunday morning to cast her ballot in the 2026 Regional and Municipal Elections.

Today, the 2026 Regional and Municipal Elections are being held nationwide to elect a total of 13,148 subnational authorities, including regional governors and deputy governors, regional councilors, provincial and district mayors, as well as provincial and district councilors.

For this election day, polling tables are scheduled to remain open from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to facilitate voting by citizens, the National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE) reported.

National Elections Board (JNE) Chairman Roberto Burneo recalled that extensive coordination has been carried out with the authorities responsible for security.

"We thank the Peruvian National Police for their strong commitment, as well as the Army, which has deployed a large number of personnel across the national territory," Burneo emphasized.
