The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Monday held a working meeting with representatives of doctors from different regions across the country.

The meeting with health-care workers took place at the Executive Branch headquarters, according to images released by the Government Palace Press Secretariat.

Earlier on Monday, the Head of State called for empathy and unity to be the motivation to move the country forward, in a message on the occasion of Friendship Day.

"Turning to the love and advice of one's family, as well as of great friends who show us their unconditional support, is vital in our lives," he wrote on Twitter.

"Today on Friendship Day, let fellowship, loyalty, empathy, and unity be the motivation to move the country forward," Mr. Castillo remarked.

In the afternoon, the President participated in the inauguration of new rooms at the educational institution "Maria Reiche Grosse Neuman" in Lima's San Juan de Miraflores district.
