Peru: President Boluarte swears in State Ministers

The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte Zegarra on Wednesday afternoon administered the oath of office to six State Ministers, who will lead the following sectors: Justice-Human Rights; Education; Agrarian Development-Irrigation; Labor-Employment Promotion; Production; and Transportation-Communications.

First, the Head of State swore in Eduardo Melchor Arana Ysa, who will serve as Minister of Justice and Human Rights.

Therefore, he replaces Daniel Ysau Maurate Romero in the post.

Afterwards, the top official administered the oath of office to Miriam Janette Ponce Vertiz, who has become Minister of Education.

Thus, she replaces Magnet Carmen Marquez Ramirez.

Subsequently, the President swore in Jennifer Lizetti Contreras Alvarez, who was appointed to serve as Minister of Agrarian Development and Irrigation.

She replaces Nelly Paredes Del Castillo in the post.

Next, Daniel Ysau Maurate Romero was sworn in as new Minister of Labor and Employment Promotion.

Maurate Romero —who until recently served as Justice Rights Minister— will replace outgoing Antonio Fernando Varela Bohorquez.

Later, Ana Maria Choquehuanca de Villanueva was administered the oath of office to become the new Minister of Production, thus replacing Raul Ricardo Perez Reyes Espejo in the post. 

In turn, Raul Ricardo Perez Reyes Espejo has become the new Minister of Transportation and Communications.

Therefore, he will replace outgoing Paola Pierina Lazarte Castillo.

Today's event was held at the Government Palace in the Peruvian capital, Lima.

It must be noted that Prime Minister Alberto Otarola will continue to lead the Cabinet.
