The
on Friday morning supervised the air shipment of more than 4 tons of medicines and medical supplies, which will guarantee the supply and the Social Health Insurance System's (EsSalud) service to patients in Apurimac —a region affected by road blockades.
Along with the batch of medicines, medical oxygen cylinders and hospital beds have also been sent to strengthen care in said jurisdiction.
During the activity, the Head of State insisted on her call on those who block roads to clear them thinking about the children and adults who need medical attention, food, domestic gas, and chemical inputs to purify water.
Furthermore, the top official lamented the recent death of a person who required medical assistance in Lima and whose transfer was unable to materialize due to road blockades.
Thus, the number of Peruvians who lost their lives due to this situation has increased to 11.
Mrs. Boluarte stressed the
importance of working in an environment of calm and peace, reminding
citizens that highway blockades and
interruption of commercial flights harm both the national and regional economies, plus small businesses.
The batch of aid was transferred on a Peruvian Air Force airplane to Ayacucho, from where it will depart by helicopter to Andahuaylas and Abancay (Apurímac region).
