This event took place at Lima's Main Square.
It saw the participation of State ministers, who were attending a Council of Ministers session.
The aforementioned drill has the objective of strengthening the preparedness and response capacities of authorities at all levels, as well as of the general population in the face of the occurrence of hazards and disasters either of natural origin or induced by human action.
On this date, the "Day of Solidarity and Reflection on Natural Disasters" is commemorated.
It was decreed in homage to the victims of the largest natural disaster in Peruvian history: the Ancash Earthquake in 1970.
The quake caused the death of more than 60,000 people and left some 180,000 injured.
