President Martin Vizcarra on Tuesday presides over commemorative activities marking the 89th anniversary of Tacna City's reincorporation to Peru.
The Head of State is currently in the southern metropolis alongside First Lady Maribel Diaz and Second Vice-President Mercedes Araoz.
As part of the festivities, the leader will join the traditional Peruvian Flag Parade along the streets of the Heroic City.
The parade is organized by the Distinguished Tacna's Women Mutual Assistance Association, as a gesture of patriotic fervor. As is known, Tacna had been under Chilean dominion following the Pacific War (1879-1883).
Local authorities are present at the event as well.
