The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo arrived in Los Angeles, United States, on Wednesday at 00:28 to participate in the IX Summit of the Americas.

On the occasion, the Head of State was joined by First Lady of the Nation Lilia Paredes, Economy-Finance Minister Oscar Graham, and Peruvian Ambassador to Spain Oscar Maurtua.

After arriving on U.S. soil, the President was received by the Permanent Representative of Peru to the Organization of American States (OAS), Harold Forsyth, and U.S. Government officials.

The top official has an intense work agenda from June 8 to 10, which includes meetings with counterparts from the region, representatives of international organizations, and businesspeople, in search of new investments for Peru.

Last Tuesday, before departing for the United States, the Head of State said he was traveling to bring positive news in favor of Peru and the integration of the peoples at the Summit of the Americas.

The top official affirmed that the event will allow the Government to strengthen multilateral solutions against the food crisis, poverty, insecurity, and inequalities.

"We are at a crucial moment for the world due to post-pandemic events and the war between Russia and Ukraine," he added.
