The
on Tuesday announced that a Decentralized Council of Ministers will be held in Callao region in the coming days.
"Tomorrow, we will have a Council of Ministers, and we are going to schedule a Decentralized Council in Callao region. I hope that, following this greeting, this welcome, we come to an agreement," Mr. Castillo expressed after receiving leaders from Callao region's different social grassroots organizations at the Government Palace in Lima.
The Head of State stressed that his administration has come to power to correct what is wrong joined by the people, adding that he will not hesitate to do so.
Likewise, the top official criticized the fact that his opponents attempt to involve him in corruption acts and make citizens believe that his administration is the same as those that had preceded him.
Within this framework, the dignitary invited grassroots leaders to remain vigilant and to report him if —at any time— they find out that he had committed an illegal act.
"Because we have not come to steal a cent from the country; we have not come to disrespect the country; we have come to improve things," he expressed.
President Castillo reiterated that he is respectful of institutions and governance, and also deemed it necessary for State powers to focus on the country's needs and move towards a single line of work for the benefit of the people.
The President received 300 leaders of grassroots organizations at the Government Palace's Courtyard of Honor.
These included health and workers' unions (General Confederation of Workers of Peru - CGTP), youth movements of artisanal fishers, and members of settlement associations.
