Peru PM visits Junin region to monitor COVID-19 response measures

Peruvian Prime Minister Vicente Zeballos arrived in Jauja city in order to supervise health service provision, public order, and food markets amid the pandemic caused by COVID-19 in Junin region.


The President of the Council of Ministers is accompanied by Justice and Human Rights Minister Fernando Castañeda, Deputy Ministers of Agriculture and Health, as well as members of the COVID-19 Operations Command team in said region.

Additionally, Zeballos will meet with regional authorities to analyze the measures adopted to address the coronavirus pandemic.


Initially set to last from March 16 to 30, the quarantine has been extended until June 30.

Sunday marks the ninety-eight day of mandatory social isolation in Peru.
