Peru PM: Recommendations aim to protect citizens' lives

Relaxing restriction measures to face the COVID-19 also depends on citizens' response to these recommendations whose sole purpose is to protect lives, Peruvian Prime Minister Vicente Zeballos said on Tuesday.

Via Twitter, the high-ranking official requested citizens to help the Government, so that the phrase Primero Mi Salud (My Health Comes First) guides citizens' behavior from now on.

The message was issued within the framework of

a mandatory social isolation imposed to prevent the COVID-19 from further spreading in the South American country.

Initially set to last from March 16 to 30, the quarantine was extended until June 30.

Tuesday marks the ninety-third day of mandatory social isolation in Peru.
