Peruvian Prime Minister Fernando Zavala today addresses Congress' Constitution and Regulation Commission to present the 112 legislative decrees issued by the Executive and solve any inquiries legislators may have in this respect.

As is known, the Executive Branch has issued 112 decrees under Congress-granted powers. Said measures focus on five topics: citizen security, economic reactivation and formalization, fight against corruption, State-run PetroPeru reshuffle, as well as water and sanitation services implementation.

The extraordinary session started after 9:00 AM. The Cabinet Chief is joined by State Ministers Carlos Basombrio (Interior), Marisol Perez Tello (Justice and Human Rights), Patricia Garcia (Health), Gonzalo Tamayo (Energy and Mines), Alfredo Thorne (Economy and Finance) and Edmer Trujillo (Housing, Construction and Sanitation).

On Wednesday, Zavala reiterated the said laws had been carefully crafted, so as not to abuse Parliament-granted powers to legislate.

"Before their passing and issuing, each measure was subject to a thorough analysis to make sure we were not exceeding powers granted [by Congress]," he assured.
