Prime Minister Anibal Torres made an unexpected visit to the National Superintendence of Migrations headquarters in Lima's Breña district on Monday.

The government's spokesman arrived at the site minutes after 8:00 a.m. (local time) to speak with institution officials.

The Cabinet chief also visited Jorge Chavez International Airport in Callao region to supervise the work of Migration personnel, demanding that resources for the issuance of passports and guidance to users be optimized.

At the international flights boarding area, Torres inspected the implementation of electronic e-gates, whose use is still in trial period.

Within this framework, Migration authorities promised to have this service 100% operational on November 7.

In addition, the Prime Minister arrived at the airport's Migration Area and found a reduced number of personnel there.

During the inspection, he demanded that attention be sped up. Thus, more personnel were summoned to serve the users who were waiting at the site.
