Peru PM: National Police to gain better access to healthcare services

The Peruvian Government will provide better access to healthcare services for National Police (PNP) members, Prime Minister Fernando Zavala announced on Wednesday.

Remarks were made as he supervised works for the new PNP hospital in the city of Lima.

Within this framework, Mr. Zavala highlighted the health facility represents a significant improvement for the police institution

The 28,344-square-meter health center will host 80 doctor's offices, 128 beds, obstetric and surgery centers, among other areas.

The modern hospital construction will require an investment worth over S/300 million (around US$92.08 million). Corresponding works will conclude in the second half of 2018. 

At the site, the high-ranking official was joined by Interior Minister Carlos Basombrio, PNP Director General Vicente Romero and PNP Health Department Head Maria Hinostroza Pereyra.
