Peru PM holds virtual meeting with Congress members

Peruvian Prime Minister Vicente Zeballos on Tuesday reported on the prevention, protection, and control actions to face the coronavirus (COVID-19) led by the High-Level Multisectoral Commission to Combat Coronavirus.

The meeting was held in a virtual session of the Congress' Health, Oversight, and Special COVID-19 Commissions.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Zeballos was joined by Health Minister Victor Zamora and Social Health Insurance System (EsSalud) Executive-President Fiorella Molinelli.

The event took place within the framework of a mandatory social isolation imposed to prevent the COVID-19 from further spreading in the South American country.

Initially set to last from March 16 to 30, the social isolation measure has been extended until May 10.

Tuesday marks forty-fourth day of mandatory social isolation.
