Prime Minister Ernesto Alvarez emphasized the importance of education in breaking the vicious cycles of poverty, in addition to the crucial role that teachers play in building a better society.

Remarks were made during his participation in the recognition ceremony held by the National Institute for the Defense of Competition and Protection of Intellectual Property (Indecopi) for a group of educators who received training on intellectual property topics.

The high-ranking official took the opportunity to recognize the important role of this institution in defending individuals within economic activity.

Likewise, the Cabinet member noted that it is one of the three best such entities in the Peruvian State.

Regarding teachers, the government's spokesman noted that their work goes beyond imparting knowledge and is one of the most important tasks, as it spans multiple generations and helps build more modern, just, and rights-respecting societies.

"Education is an invaluable tool that enables us to break the vicious cycles of poverty, because the more we educate a student, the more opportunities we give them to, as adults, meet the needs of their family and, in doing so, contribute to the country's development," Alvarez pointed out.

The Prime Minister thanked the organizers who invited him to the ceremony held at the Indecopi headquarters in Lima.

He also highlighted the efforts of those committed to building a more democratic and just society.

"I leave (this event) truly satisfied because, above institutions, the people —Peruvians— are working and uphold a strong commitment to building a better Peru," he concluded.
