Peru PM enters Congress hemicycle room during plenary session

11:31 | Lima, Sep. 30.

Peru's Prime Minister Salvador del Solar —joined by Cabinet ministers— entered the Congress hemicycle room during Monday's plenary session, which is intended to elect the Constitutional Court members.

His arrival occurred as lawmakers discussed a censure motion against Congress Chairman Pedro Olaechea, presented by opposition legislators.

As is known, last Friday, Del Solar requested Congress to summon him for today's plenary session in order to address the confidence motion —submitted by the Executive Branch to Congress— regarding the election of the Constitutional Court members.
