The Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is one of the finest routes for hiking enthusiasts worldwide. Travelers from various countries long to experience and enjoy this journey, which has often been ranked among the best backpacking trips in the world.

This explains the strong interest, both in Peru and internationally, in tickets to visit this coveted route, which crosses breathtaking natural landscapes and impressive cultural attractions.

Machu Picchu stands as its main jewel for the upcoming year 2026.

Recently, the Decentralized Directorate of Culture in Cusco (DDC Cusco) released the advance reservation schedule for the Inca Trail Network 2026.

"The public, as well as travel agencies and tour operators, are hereby informed that, in compliance with the fifth final complementary provision of the Regulations for the Sustainable Tourist Use of the Inca Trail Network of the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, approved by Ministerial Resolution No. 069-2017-MC, the following advance reservation schedule for the Inca Trail Network 2026 has been established," it stated.

The statement specified that sales for January 2026 will take place on Monday, October 27, starting at 9:00 a.m. (local time).

Tickets for March will be sold on Tuesday, October 28.

Ticket sales for April will take place on Wednesday, October 29; for May, on Thursday, October 30; and for June, on Friday, October 31, at the same stated time.

For July 2026, ticket sales will take place on Monday, November 3, and for August through December on Tuesday, November 4.

February has not been included in the schedule, as authorities usually close the route that month to carry out maintenance and rehabilitation work due to the rains in the area.
