The head of Peru's Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur), Magali Silva, will open today the Peru Pavilion Expocomer 2015 with the participation of more than 120 Peruvian businessmen gathered in Panama City.

The Peruvian presence has been strengthened this year, and is expected to showcase four different lines.

In 2014, Expocomer saw the participation of Peruvian entrepreneurs in the fields of clothing production, footwear, food, construction materials and items. This year, Peru will also boost export of services and tourism.

Nearly 80 business school students will take part in the event. They will put into practice what they have learned and will explore the boiling point of business activity.

Last year, Peru inked deals worth US$19.5 million and its delegation was made up of 50 companies; this year’s goal is to surpass that number, she told Andina news agency.

The opening ceremony will take place at 14:00 hours at the Atlapa Convention Center.

Prior to that, Minister Silva will get together with Mr. Meliton Arrocha, Panama's Minister of Commerce and Industries.

She will later visit the City of Knowledge Foundation, where Peru Tech consortium operations will be started.
